NE Women’s Pro Team

Hello all,

I just received this.  While it is short notice, I thought some of our players and families may be interested so I am passing it on directly.

You may be interested to know that I will be attending the Junior National Meetings in Salt Lake City in a couple of weeks and will have an opportunity to see the Women’s Pro Team in action.  I will report back on their success.

Dear Juniors players, coaches and parents from ALL programs!:

The Juniors season has ended for most New England teams, but there is an event on Thursday, May 10th that might be of some interest to all.

The newly formed Professional Women’s League Team from New England will be practicing from 8-10pm at MGA Sports, the newly opened 12-court volleyball facility at 675 Canton St. Norwood, MA, near Route 128/95.

While this impressive  team will be practicing, here is what Juniors players have available to them: Ccome as early as 6:30 and play with any and all of the other players who will be there.  This includes players who are in any age-group and from any team at any level.  The activities will be competitive wave games, maybe 6v6; sort of Serious Fun!  The players can play with their teammates or players from their own school, at their ability/age level.

Parents are welcome to stay or even come dressed to play on one of the courts.

Food and drink will be served.

Come with your teams!!!  Make plans for Thursday!

Information about USA PVL:

Team New England is joining MGA Sports as the resident Professional League Team, sanctioned by USA Volleyball. http://www.usapvl.com/

The USA PVL is a grass roots professional volleyball league beginning in 2012 and it will be made up of teams from among of the forty (40) regional volleyball associations across the United States. The USA PVL will be sanctioned by USA Volleyball and will offer tournament play and a League Championship event each year.

In 2012 the PVL will offer a single league championship event at the USA Open National Championships in Salt Lake City, UT. In 2013 (and beyond), the PVL will offer tournament play at various USAV Jr. National Qualifiers (JNQ’s) in addition to the USA Open National Championships. The league championships (after 2012) will take place in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls’ Jr. National Championship event that is held in various locations throughout the USA. The goal is to add a men’s division in the near future and the league championships for the men will take place at the USA Volleyball Boys’ Jr. National Championship event.
